Stopera Pier, Amsterdam

15.30 – ~22.00

Please note that the day starts by boarding and departing by boat. The boat is not allowed to block the pier longer than is needed for actual boarding, which means we’ll depart at 15.30 sharp. Please arrive with sufficient margin, so you don’t miss the boat – literally!

Arrival

If you are coming by public transport, you can best travel to the Waterlooplein stop. This stop is reachable by metro or tram and from there it’s a 2 minute walk to the Stopera Pier.

If you are coming by car, the best parking option is Q-Park Waterlooplein, which is at 6 minutes or 500 meters walking distance from the Stopera Pier.

End of the evening

Unfortunately, at some point the day will have to come to an end. Please note that this will be at a different location (Hotel L’Europe) from where we have started the day. However, both locations are at a walkable distance from each other (about 10 minutes). There are also plenty of public transport options in the surrounding area.

Details

We are so excited to spend this unforgettable day with all of you. We’ve planned for a day we feel fits best with us: an intimate setting, surrounded by family and close friends. Our hope is to create a day that feels special and meaningful – a time to enjoy each other’s company and make memories together.

Ceremony

Our day starts with getting on board of beautiful boat Roos and onto the canals of Amsterdam, where our ceremony will take place. Surrounded by the beauty of the city where our story began, it’s the perfect place for us to exchange vows and start the next part of our journey together.

Dinner

After the ceremony the boat will bring us to the private terrace of Hotel L’Europe. Set by the waterside, the terrace invites us to relax and savor a beautiful dinner together as the evening starts. The charm of Amsterdam, along with the canal views, will create the warm and cosy (“gezellig”) atmosphere we’ve envisioned for this special day.

We can’t wait to enjoy, toast, and make wonderful memories with all of you on this special day. Your presence means the world to us, and we hope you’ll feel just as much love and joy as we do.

We kindly ask that you let us know if you’ll be able to join before March 10, by filling in the form below. Since this is a small and personal celebration and we’re inviting limited guests, we hope to rely on your commitment once your RSVP is confirmed. ▼

Questions

What if it rains or the weather is bad?

Although the wedding will take place in summer and we’re hoping for a beautiful, warm, and sunny day, we have accounted for all weather possibilities, including rain. If needed, the boat can be closed, and the dinner will be moved inside in case the weather is such that the outside terrace is not a realistic option anymore.

What is the dress code?

This is a very special day for us, and we’d love to see everyone looking great! While a full suit and tie aren’t necessary (but feel free to wear one if you’d like!), we encourage you to dress up in a way that fits with you, reflecting the significance of the day. Whether it’s a nice dress or a sharp shirt and pants, we aim to create a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere for everybody to enjoy.

Do you have any gift preferences or ideas?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you’d like to give a gift, you can help make our honeymoon in Japan extra unforgettable by contributing toward activities we’re dreaming of enjoying. Some tangible examples would be:

These suggestions are just to give you an idea of the activities we’d love to enjoy on our honeymoon, in case you’re looking for some inspiration. However, it’s completely up to you. Alternatively, feel free to surprise us in any way that feels meaningful to you.

Can I take pictures during the wedding?

The ceremony is a time we’d like to fully experience together, so we ask that everyone keeps their phones put away during this moment. Our photographer will be capturing everything, and we’ll arrange in advance if we’d like additional help from any of the guests. That way everyone can focus on the ceremony and enjoy being present with us. Feel free to take photos at other times!
